Dizzy Dean was an American professional baseball player. He was a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB), who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and the St. Louis Browns. He was inducted to the Hall of Fame as a Cardinals player in 1953.

Dizzy was the son of Alma (Nelson) and Albert Dean. He was married to Patricia.

Dizzy’s paternal grandfather was Charles Madison Dean (the son of Henry Dean and Elizabeth Mary Matlock). Charles was born in Ohio.
